Adrianne's Family Baby Shower

Adrianne's sisters and Meredith hosted the family baby shower on June 29th.
We had lots of family there and it was a lot of fun.
A mid-morning brunch with quiche, belgian waffles, lots of frest fruit, juices, and family favorite goodies.

 Adrianne LOVES Sock Monkeys!

I totally remember this story and it was one of my favorites growing up.  After half a century of being Little Black Sambo, people decided it was a racial slur so they changed the title to Sam and The Tigers (remember they run around the tree and melt into golden butter...).  I will always think of it as Little Black Sambo.  Funny thing--as a child I never thought anything about race.

 Candy station.

The theme for the shower was a vintage ABC's with books.  We used glass milk bottles for the vases with Gerbera daisies.  Adrianne's sister, Apryl, is incredibly creative and visionary.  I borrowed these banner holders from my friend, Jamie, and they added a perfect touch.  We strung a cute banner between them and had balloons from the top.

 Plenty of baby bath supplies!

So many darling outfits!

It was also a book shower.
On the invitation was a book plate to sign and put inside a book for baby girl.
She has a great collection started.

Meredith made all these onesies for baby girl.

One of Adrianne's favorites:  A collection of Golden Book bedtime stories.  Including The Pokey Little Puppy--a treasured story to her.

Baby blankets and burps from me.

The white one is for her blessing day.

I found this Pokey Little Puppy fabric online and couldn't resist!

Same with the pink sock monkey fabric!  She was so happy.

Grandma Liz's traditional gift for the great-grandchildren.
A silver dollar with the year of their birth.

 Grandma Liz, Apryl, and Bernadette.
 So sweet outfit!

 Mere and Ainsley.

 Cute vintage collection of books.

 Art runs in Adrianne's family.
Her cousin drew this on the card.

 Monkeys--of course!

Autumn doing the game.
Have to have a game.
It was a gorgeous day and we did most everything outside.  The tables were darling and Apryl decorated the trees with paper lanterns and banners to match the one in the house and across the patio cover.
Now we are just waiting for baby girl to get here!
