Getting Lost In The Day

We slept in.  The quiet stillness of the mountains.  The smell of the pines, sagebrush. Chirping birds.

We ate a simple breakfast in shifts.  Whenever we felt like it.  Watched the world cup.  Were still in our pajamas at 3pm.  Decided we should get dressed and go down to The Store for a few grocery items.  Christine and Duff volunteered to do the marketing while I finished unpacking and getting things organized for our stay.  As all new drivers, Chris is creating opportunities to drive!

Finished Whitney's baby blanket set.  It turned out darling.  Started Bethany's.  I've really enjoyed finding creative ways to do the handwork.  Whit's set has cars so I did an edging that was round like the wheels.  Bethany's has stars so I'm doing an edge with points like those on stars.

Late afternoon, Christine and I decided we needed to do an Anne of Green Gables marathon.  Those are just some of the best classics ever.  We can quote them and still find ourselves laughing and crying in all the same places and surprisingly some new ones too.  The two of us comfy on the couch getting lost in Avonlea again. Good times. Shaun came down from the office loft and commented that it was almost 'sacriligeous' to be watching this without Natalie.
