A New 'Tag', and I'm It!

Well, Well, Well. A new 'tag' is going around and I am now IT. My fabuloso cousin, Roberta, tagged me and I'm happy to oblige! Here are the rules:

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules in your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger's blogs letting them know they've been tagged.

So here goes with 6 unspectacular quirks of mine:

1. I have to alphabetize my spices! I keep them on double turntables and they MUST be in alphabetical order. It just makes 'sense' to me. That's how you find them in the grocery store, right? If someone uses them and doesn't put them back in the right order, I can't handle it and have to fix it immediately. And they all have to be facing out.

2. I am a night person. I'd rather stay up late with the quiet of the house and sleep in a bit later in the morning, than the other way around. I've always been this way. Not really a morning person.

3. I LOVE bubblebaths! Especially with candles.

4. I am not very impulsive. I am methodical. I have to pause and think something out. My sisters all laugh at me about it. I am more like my mom this way. I am organized. I have to have things in their place. That is not to say though that I don't have some unorganized piles and places. My craft, working, scrapbooking table is proof of that (and other areas). But like when I get out of my car, I look around for any trash and pick it up right then.

5. I am not reptile, rodent, or feline friendly. Sorry, no offense, but I am a dog person.

6. I do not like the hymn, O Ye Mountains High. If they want to use it for celebrating Pioneer Day in Utah only or for a special presentation about the pioneers great. Otherwise please write new verses for it for all parts of the globe because 'zion' is all of those places too. ie: O Ye palm trees that sway by the cool ocean breeze, or, O Siberian plain with your whiteness so grand... I don't usually sing it. Sometimes I will, but most of the time no. My family all looks down the row at me, laughs and then sings all the more loudly!

Boy--this is sure a self-evaluating exercise! I found soooo many more quirks. These are just the ones I am willing to share! haha

So now I tag: Jennifer, Kristin, Meredith, Adrianne, Natalie, Angie, Jodi, and Shaun, Okay so it's more than six....Well, actually anybody who reads this!

Tagged, Again----

Angie tagged Kristin, and Kristin tagged me--so here I go:

25 years ago: I was 26 years old, and had just gotten over a very bad case of pnuemonia. I was pregnant with Natalie, and already had 2 little boys. Duff was busy working for Ernst and Young, and we lived in one half of a duplex in Santa Ana, and interest rates were 18%! But we had to get a start somewhere in the real estate market. Lots of good memories there. Very poor and very happy.

20 years ago: I was 31 and had 4 little children then. We had sold the duplex a couple of years before and were able to buy a four bedroom house in Westminster. It was a true fixer-upper, as we bought it in foreclosure, but we loved and nurtured that little place. Interest rates were much better then.

15 years ago: Still living in Westminster. Duff was living in Hawaii heading up the merger between Honolulu Federal and Bank of America. He was there for 10 months with an occasional visit home every couple of weeks. He was in the Bishopric, and I was the YW President, and we had 4 kids at home, so it was CRAZY times.

10 years ago: Had moved 3 years ago to Dove Canyon. So beautiful! I had a 3 year old, again. We had a sweet surprise and she has kept us young. Mike was on a mission, Josh and Natalie in high school, and Shaun in middle school. Duff and some friends had started a company and the crazy times of 5 years ago had prepared us for the even crazier present.

5 years ago: Christine got baptized, Josh and Natalie were at BYU and BYUI, Mike back and forth between here and Atlanta. I was in the RS presidency and caring for a sick friend with a terminal brain tumor. She passed away that November. Duff was on the High Council and life was crazier still.

1 year ago: Working on the new Primary year. Getting ready for Christmas and going to the cabin for New Years. Shaun was in a car accident in Park City when a semi broadsided him on a heavy snowy I40, and walked away without a scratch. Miracle! Getting ready for Josh and Meredith's wedding. Recovering from emergency surgery for my gall bladder, missed going to the temple with Lisa for her first time because I was in the hospital. Duff had sold his company, and was home for the last 18 months. Getting ready to start another one.

Yesterday: Went to church, came home, put a roast chicken in for dinner, put the garland on the stairs, rested, enjoyed the family. Shaun had friends over for movies and brownies with ice cream.

Today: Started the laundry, picked up the house from the weekend, went to Costco to pick up our Christmas Cards and do some food shopping. They had great Christmas music on and it couldn't help but make you happy! Getting ready to go on a Newport Harbor cruise tonight with some friends who have a boat and we will see all the pretty lights for FHE.

5 snacks I enjoy: popcorn, carrots, vanilla bean ice-cream, cashews, and a banana with Nutella on it.

5 things I would do with a million dollars: get all my food storage at once, buy eyeglasses and wheel chairs for people in other countries who need them, buy a boat.

5 places I would run away to: the cabin, my closet, my bedroom, the beach to listen to the calming of the waves, the temple

5 TV shows I like: Dancing with the Stars, The Closer, CSI:Miami, Paula's Home Cooking, The Barefoot Contessa, Law and Order, Without a Trace

5 things I hate doing: putting gas in the car when someone else has driven it before me and used up all the gas, going grocery shopping without a list, getting gum and crayon out of laundry, cleaning up the kitchen after I've already cleaned it and someone else has used it and made a mess again, coming up with Halloween costumes.

5 biggest joys of the moment: laundry is almost done, Costco shopping is all put away, my house is almost all decorated for Christmas, my Christmas shopping will be done by Friday, and I feel peace in my heart and soul for the gospel and my family.

I have a previous tag in my archives on October 8, 2007 if anyone wants to know more. Now, let's see: I TAG NATALIE AND GWEN AND SHAUN AND MEREDITH!
