Question: What is your favorite book? Why?
Answer: I have a lot of 'favorite' books. One of them besides the Book of Mormon, is The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom. The lessons in this book are for a lifetime.
I will never forget when I read it for the first time. It was in the 1980's and I was sick and a friend brought it by for me to read while I was getting better. I couldn't put it down. I read and read until it was done.
It is a true story about Love and Hate. Family. War. Wrong and right. Gratitude. Happiness. Despair. And in the end Forgiveness. Quite moving. "Corrie and Betsie ten Boom are middle-aged sisters working in their father's watchmaker shop in pre-WWII Holland. Their uneventful lives are disrupted with the coming of the Nazis. Suspected of hiding Jews & caught breaking rationing rules, they are sent to a concentration camp, where their Christian faith keeps them from despair and bitterness. Betsie eventually dies, but Corrie survives, and after the war, must learn to love and forgive her former captors." (imbd)
