I just want to record for my journal that I know he was a prophet. I have always known it. For some reason this is something I have never had to question or struggle with. From the time I was a child the spirit witnessed to me that his account of the vision he had in the Sacred Grove truly happened. I know that this knowledge is a gift to me from God. As I have gone through my 51 years of life so far, I have had my share of good times and hard times. Sometimes when you go through those times it is easy to complain and/or waver. It is this knowledge that he was a prophet and saw God, the Father, and Jesus Christ, His Son in that grove that gets me through. Because that really happened everything else is true and falls into it's proper place.
I am grateful to pause today and think of Joseph.

I KNEW he was born in Vermont!!!! THe summer after 5th grade mom and dad took me to Vermont because that's where I did my state report. While we were there we visited Joseph Smith's home, and there was a monument for him and everything. A few months ago I was in the jacuzzi at the apartment and there was a lady asking me some questions and she asked where Joseph Smith came from. I said "Vermont". Little did I know there were 3 RM's in the spa too and they were like "No, he's from upstate New York". They really made me feel like an idiot. I could have sworn that he was from Vermont, and now this lady thought that I had no idea what I was talking about.
"Amen, Sista!"
Megan--Trust your feelings! You were right!
Berta--'right back at ya'!
Everyone knows Joseph Smith was born in Vermont!!!! Shame on those RM's for not knowing and for being argumentive with you in front of an investigator!! Hopefully you will see the lady again-so you can correct the RM's and you can offer her some printed info!
We owe Joseph Smith so much. We are so blessed because of his sacrifice and courage to ask the question! Thanks Cindy for taking a moment for all of us to pause.......
