My house is driving me crazy. In my mind, I should be in the middle of a remodel. But we've put that off now until Natalie and Robert get married. I would be 'cuckoo' if I was doing both! So I decided that we need to 'take care of' a few' things around here that we have let go thinking it wouldn't matter.
So today the Coit man came and took down all the kitchen valances, loaded them up in his truck, and off they go to be cleaned. The dust and spiderwebs were abundant! It's pretty cool how he does that with boarded valances. They all kind of nest together and he puts these long drawstring bags over the ends so nothing gets ripped or frayed.
Then I arranged for a new blind on the kitchen/family room slider. It's not my first choice, but we've got to have something on there for the summer since it is completely west facing and is murder in the afternoon/evening! A white vinyl vertical with fabric inserts in the front to keep it quiet. It was the most economical since I will be getting rid of it by the end of the year.
The carpets and tile grout are getting cleaned. They have had it! It's sooo time for new carpet.
I have various window treatments in the house: shutters, 2 inch blinds, duets. The blinds are getting cleaned next week. At $10 a blind it is well worth it. He takes them down, cleans, does any needed repairs, dries, and puts them back up. It beats bending over them in the bathtub for the smaller ones and on the driveway for the larger ones. OH, I did that a lot before. With the old-fashioned wooden garage doors that had no panels and were all one piece I got pretty creative in hanging up the large blinds with coat hangers on the metal wire across the bottom of the door so they could dry!
Made haircut appointments for all 3 of us girls so we will be ready for the 3 generation picture next week with my mom.
Leftovers for dinner.
Nic came and got Christine for the evening. That was so nice of her to spend her time with a teenager. They went back to her place and watched She's The Man. Christine loved it.
Duff and I headed over to Lowes. We picked up the rototiller (!) and got a new metal stand for the hammock. The brusies on my right leg have healed nicely, but the left one is still pretty gross from where it broke and landed right on me as I fell to the ground.
It was freezing today. I just had the air on yesterday. Amazing.
