Today Meredith treated Patti and I to a manicure/pedicure as a thank you for helping her and Josh get ready for the baby these last few months. Isn't that just such a thoughtful treat?
It was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep.
I haven't had a manicure since they got married. I'm wearing gloves for everything I do now because I don't want to spoil the baby pink polish. Haha. She has invited me to come for the labor and delivery and for some reason I have it in my head that I want my manicure to last for that. Are you chuckling yet? Totally not reasonable, but it's lurking around in there none the less.
Then I took her to her appointment.
She has progressed a little more. Since she has to have an ultrasound each appointment, she has lots of pictures of Baby Girl. It is fun to see the progression. Baby Girl has chubby little cheeks and hair (!) and likes her fists up around her face. She had her arms hugging her knees today and it was as cute as can be. Fluid pockets are good. The nst (non-stress-test) went well. Meredith is having more contractions that she can identify now. She has a high pain tolerance. Oh, but her belly. I get the shivers when I see all the bruises and needle pokes from her blood thinning injections. An early evidence of the truth that mothers do just about anything for the love of their child. When I dropped her off after, I went in to see the baby's room and their room and how she is all set up now to bring the baby home. Everything is assembled now except for the crib, but she will be in the cradle in their room for a while first.
We cleaned out the fridge for dinner leftovers tonight. I have to say, I like doing that on a Friday. The kids came over to visit, Gidget made her way to cuddle with everyone she could. Christine had some friends over.

I hope Meredith has her baby this week. That would be awesome! I took my three daughters-in-law for a pedicure over Christmas break, and it was awesome. I don't indulge in that very often, but I'm not sure why... it is not a terribly expensive way to be pampered.
I am truly EXCITED for you guys - this is extra special! What a warrior she has been in getting this baby here and hopefully it will be soon! CONGRATS EVERYONE - keep me posted and you will ALL be in my prayers for a safe and speedy delivery!!!!!!! Hugs to all!
