One by one, every person in our house has gotten this current cold bug.
We have gone through 12 boxes of tissue this week alone.
I went to Target mid week to get some over the counter helps. The shelves were practically naked. It was slim pickin's. The line for the pharmacy went down the aisle and around the main aisle. It was crazy. I just kept thinking what was wrong with us. This is the 2nd go-round for our family with colds this season so far. Then I realized that we aren't the only ones. Mom's had babies and small children screaming in the pharmacy line. They were sick themselves along side their family. Those of us looking for items to give some relief for our symptoms struck up conversations and compared notes. The shelves at CVS were bare as well.
Even our AZ families have been sick with this. My mom ended up at the doctor. Lisa needs to go to the doctor. My dad is healthy. He is convinced it is because his system is more alkaline based than acidic. He recommends that we all take bicarbonate of soda twice a day. At first I was like, yeah right. But maybe he's on to something. He's 80 years old and hasn't had a cold in 3 years.
His nephrologist (kidney doctor) put him on a regimen a few years ago to get his blood to a more alkaline state to help with his kidney disease. He hasn't had a respiratory problem since.

Looks like our house. I am still blowing my nose. Craig is spraying Lysol in the house so he does not get sick.
