We met Bob and Gwen Evans at the Cougar Club tailgate festivities. Even in San Diego is a bit of Cougar Town.
When we walked in, Cosmo the mascot, was right there. Lucky for Christine she got to have a photo op with him! Boy does he have a lot of 'spirit'. Many years ago during my days at the Y and working in the athletics office, I worked with Cosmo and the cheer and yell leaders. I have to say, meeting up with Cosmo once again sure brought back a flood of great memories!
Duff and Bob Evans during the game. We might as well call the Evans family--we have known them since before we were all married. They came in from AZ for the game. Looking good guys in your BYU blue.
Gwen Evans and Christine. In spite of the threatening rain clouds, we did have a little sun for a while--hence the sunglasses. Christine favors the BYU 'pink'? over the BYU 'blue' this time around. Even her sweatshirt is a pink BYU one.
Our good neighbors, Kevin and Cindy Steele (on the right end) had planned with us a long time ago to go to the game. Originally it was supposed to be played in October, but that is when we had all the fires going on up here and in San Diego. Qualcomm Stadium was used as an evacuation site and the air quality was bad, so the game was postponed to Dec.1st. Arlen and Debi Woffinden came too and we all braved the cold together and cheered our team to victory! (l-r: Arlen, Debi, Cindy, Kevin)
The players entering the field at the beginning of the game. Go Cougars!!!
The cheerleaders. For some reason they stayed down at this end of the field for most of the game. We used to love to see Cameron (my nephew) when he cheered for the Y.
Mike and Adrianne. Duff gave her a hard time about coming to the game because she is not a big football buff. She has such a dry wit and sense of humor and can dish it right back in an oh-so-sweet way! She is a great addition to our family. Good pick, Mike!
Brittany and Stephanie Steele. I'm so proud of myself--I can still tell them apart, even on the phone! It's been fun to watch them grow up.
The surprise of the evening! Uncle Mike and Aunt Jan! They were celebrating their 10th anniversary in San Diego this weekend and Uncle Mike's 40th birthday. They came to the game and we got to see and visit with them for a little while. How fun was that???!!! Hope you guys had a good time and a safe trip back to Utah. We Love You!
