"We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul---We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things."
"More and more the world is filled with chaos and confusion. Messages surround us which contradict all that we hold dear---enticing us to turn from that which is 'virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy' (Article of Faith 1:13) and embrace the thinking which often prevails outside the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, when our families are united in purpose, and an atmosphere of peace and love prevails, home becomes a sanctuary from the world. (President Monson)
"When we are tired or ill or discouraged, how sweet the comfort of being able to turn homeward. We are blessed to belong and to have a place in the family circle" . (Worldwide Leadership Training Meeting, February 9, 2008, p. 29).

To All The Pumpkins In My Patch!

People are kind of like pumpkins...
God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He opens you up and touches you deep inside and then scoops out all the yucky stuff--including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.
I send my LOVE to all you pumpkins in my 'patch'!

Attitude
Remember, a good attitude produces good results, a fair attitude fair results, a poor attitude poor results. We each shape our own life and the shape of it is determined largely by our attitude!

Thank You and Gratitude
We are scattered all over geographically right now, but each of us has our own signs of autumn setting in! Since Fall is generally the winding up season of the year where our thoughts are reflecting and we are preparing for winter, I wanted to post this:
There is a difference between THANK YOU and GRATITUDE. "Thank You" is of the lips and voice. "Gratitude" is from the heart.
--David O. McKay
Something to think about for all of us.
Love, Mom

...Before You Speak...
I'm picking up and cleaning around home, listening, singing, and dancing to High School Musical. It's upbeat and fun and has a good motivating message, good harmonies too. Anyway--I came across this in some of my paperwork. I don't remember who said it, but I LOVE it!
...Before You Speak...ask yourself:
--Is it timely?
--Is it true?
--Is it kind?
--Is it necessary?
Take a breath. Half the time you won't say it!
