Did You Know? (Lightening)
I always grew up thinking that thunder was the clouds banging together. Did you? Guess what I found out today:
When lightening strikes, it heats the air around the bolt to 36,000 degrees farenheit. Now, the surface of the sun is about 11,000 degrees farenheit, so a lightening bolt is 3 times the temperature of the sun! When the air is heated that quickly it expands and that is the BOOM that we call thunder.
