The YW Broadcast is a once a year event not to be missed. And it proved true again. Even as the mom, I was soaking up what every speaker said. I thought about how nice it is that they have a whole meeting dedicated to them. The words of God through a Prophet. It was inspiring, timely, and motivating. The spirit there was contagious and uplifting.

Joshua 1:5-9
Joshua = "God Is Help"
1: verse 5--He will always be there for us. Pray and be patient. Patience is needed when waiting upon the Lord.
2: verse 7-- Obedience=success. Be strictly obedient to commandments. Avoid temptations around you and you will be protected.
3: verse 8-- Read and meditate. Read the scriptures. Especially the Book of Mormon.
4: verse 16-- Commit. Follow the Prophet. We will go and DO.

Be Strong and of a Good Courage
--She told a story about taking her grandchildren to climb to the Timpanogos Caves. It is about a 1 1/4 mile hike. The first 1/4 of the way was easy. It was a bit harder to the 1/2 way mark. By the time they reached the 3/4 mile marker, some started to complain that it was just too steep. Too hard. Couldn't do it.
--So they came up with a plan.
--They only concentrated on the next 100 steps and counted them off. They stayed on the trail to avoid the rattlesnakes.
--This is like earthly life.
--We need to have a plan. The Lord has provided that for us. How will we live it?
--Seek support from Heavenly Father, and parents. Trust your parents.
--Gain a strong testimony of your own. It will keep you safe.
--Take one step at a time.
--Stay on the trail. Don't stray into temptations.
--Be Stong. Have Courage. Never, never, ever give up!

--He began by telling us the love and courting story of he and his wife. He parallelled it to a Fairy Tale.
--They all begin with: Once Upon A Time and end with And They Lived Happily Ever After.
--Do we want the HEAfter too? YES!
***BUT IT COMES AT A PRICE***
I think we forget that part.
--In every fairy tale, the princess has to go through a lot of trials and adversities and temptations before it all works out and the end pronounces it HEAfter.
--This is just like God's Plan. OUATime, we were in the premortal life. We have come to earth for the trials, adversities and temptations. If we handle those ( plus making and keeping covenants) well, we will have our HEAfter.
--He repeated this twice, very passionately: IT IS YOUR REACTION TO ADVERSITY AND TEMPTATION--NOT THE ADVERSITY OR TEMPTATION, THAT WILL DETERMINE OUR H.E.AFTER. HOW WE GO THROUGH AND OVERCOME THEM TO ARRIVE AT OUR OWN HappilyEverAFTER.
--We can't be whiny and complaining. It's time to square our shoulders, pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and go forward. Trust in Heavenly Father. He knows the beginning from the end.
