Ohhhh, The Colors!

Had a good flight, nice and smooth. I just got off the plane and was walking down the airport corridor when I hear, "Sister Duffy, Sister Duffy!" and this blob started moving toward me. I came to my senses and was embraced by Marky Hobbins, Scott Dallies, Kurt Le Sueur, and Landon Gregson. Four boys from the home ward. They were on the turn-around flight back to California so they could attend Jaron's funeral tomorrow morning. We had a good visit about how they are feeling since his death. It is very hard. It is fun to see them grown up now. Marky, Scott, and Landon all grew up on our street and were in diapers when we all moved there! Now they are in college! Good boys.

Then I'm almost to the escalator to go down, and there is Laurie Anthony, my dear, dear friend, and just recently released visiting teacher. She has been in Utah and was on her way home. For a brief moment I had to shake my head and wonder where I was: Utah or California???!!!

Well, the colors are ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! They had started to change ever so slightly when we left a month ago, but now the reds and oranges are all over. I love it. It makes me want to hunker down and stay still with a good book or movie or project.

On the way to Midway from the airport, Shaun and I stopped and picked up the new foosball game. We could have been on AFV. I'm sure we made a hysterical sight trying to unload that thing out of the back of the truck! We were heaving and ho-ing and sweating and laughing so hard. Natalie finally got here and we got the legs on and turned it right-side up with the 3 of us. Shaun and I had a few good games of ping-pong. The 'old girl' hasn't quite lost her touch! He was rather surprised how good I did. When I was a pre-teen, my next door neighbors had a ping-pong table and during the summers that's all we basically did. Beach and ping-pong tournaments. I was pretty dang good, actually! We will most likely finish putting the foosball together tomorrow before or after the BYU game.

Duff is home just beside himself for not being able to be here. They are in the process of negotiations and closing a sub-debt deal and he could not leave. So Mike and Adrianne are off the hook for Christine's soccer game tomorrow. It is supposed to rain tonight at home and in the morning. I'm sure they won't call the game, but it will be much cooler. It's only supposed to reach 68 tomorrow. That is 32 degrees cooler than last week's game! Go Chrissy and the Diablos!
