Christine's team lost today. It was 2-1. It was tied until the end, when both teams were completely tired, hot (100* today at noon), and spent.
Worse part was she got dehydrated in spite of all the gatorade she drank. She came off the field at the whistle, fell into a chair and kept saying she was going to be sick. We got her to the car and drove to the church where she was supposed to quickly change into nice/casual dress for the Brad Wilcox 'afternoon-side', but when she and I got into the restroom, she about collapsed. I got some more water down her, cool papertowels on her neck and face, layed her down on the cool floor tile. She got some dry heaves. I kept telling her she didn't have to stay, but she wanted to hear him and then do her babysitting service project for the Carron's so they could attend the Adult Conference that evening.
After about 40 minutes she felt good enough to get dressed. She got dizzy and sat back down on the floor and I gave her more liquids. She asked for her makeup bag, and promptly began putting on her makeup--sans mirror. I smiled and told her she was pretty amazing: probably the only female I know that is brave enough to put on makeup without a mirror. And it looked pretty good!
She forgot her sandals, so I took off mine and let her wear them and carried the soccer cleats to the car barefoot as she bravely walked in to the meeting. She ended up being fine and had a good time babysitting.
