New Schedule

We had our new church schedule today. 1-4pm. I kind of like this one. You still have your whole evening, but you get the whole morning to boot! It is great for sleep-in teenagers. We didn't start until 2pm today because of ward conference. The messages were very straightforward and timely. President Brennan gave a great one in RS and did Sister Bitter. She is amazing.

The complete sacredness of being a woman. I always thrill when I hear that message. I have never felt oppressed and I love being female. Duff has always been really good about giving me wings to fly and discover and develope new things for myself. Will we guard and protect and nourish the home and family? Or are we getting lax or tired? Good things to ponder and evaluate. It has often been tongue-in-cheek that the men are the theologians and the women the Christians. We need a balance. Women need to also be well schooled in the scriptures and doctrine and men more nurturing, compassionate.

Get our houses in order. The bishop used a talk from President Hinckley from 10 years ago, in 1998 citing the then current economic times and gave very specific counsel for the future and here we find ourselves at that place. We've had 10 years and where are we? Have we followed the prophet? Now more than ever before we need to have our finances and preparedness taken care of and in proper order. In the future, we will also need a deep supply of spiritual preparedness too.

(Lasagne for dinner. Mike and Adrianne brought the garlic bread. Can you believe the Cardinals won? The AZ family are pretty excited! Especially Uncle Craig who has tickets to the game next week! We had a good visit with the Koelliker's.)
