Duff and I ran errands today. He was not too crazy about all the things that had to be taken care of. He said, "Is this what you do when you run errands?!" He couldn't believe all the 'little' ones that need to get done. He wanted to know if we could just do them later. I told him, once we're out, we're out, and you just make a plan and get them done. It was nice when we were finished. We stopped in at Costco to purchase a suitcase and our lunch date ended up being all the samples! By the time we were done, there was no reason to go to a restaurant!
We got 2 more 55 gallon drum water barrels for our emergency preparedness. Our ward ordered them and we got a screamin' deal. Now we need to rotate the others and refill them all.
I have been enjoying January. It feels good. I've been cleaning out and there has been time to do it. I haven't been able to get to some of these things for ages. I've been formulating a plan in my mind for the holidays at the end of the year. There are some things I want to start doing next month and tuck them away to reduce the stress later on. Wish me luck!
I found out today that a good friend of mine has some very serious health problems she is facing. You just never know. I was speechless.

1) So sorry about your friend's health. It is often amazing to me that God puts us through trials like that, but I know He never gives us more than we can handle.
2) Costco samples for lunch? That totally cracked me up! There is an actual name for doing that (okay, so my mom and I made up the name but we've used it for years). It's called an "AARP lunch" We call it that because that's what all the senior citizens do - they go to Sam's Club or Costco, wander around the store, and eat something from all the samples. Then they're full and don't need to make or buy anything to eat. What makes it even funnier is that just yesterday afternoon, I told C that we should go visit our brand new Sam's Club and we could have an AARP dinner!
3) What kind of deal did you get on the water barrels? Where did they get them from? We just had my dad pick one up from Macey's for us in Utah (as well as a lot of other case lot stuff), but that's 11 hours away. We need to get two more as well.
Too funny! I didn't know it had a name! I'll have to remember that.
I'm having a brain fade, but I think they were either 11 or 22 dollars each. A brother in our ward got them through a connection. I can check with him though. We ordered in large bulk. I wonder if you could also do that through your enrichment committee or through your position at work on the ep committee? We now have 6-55 gallons and 2 15 gallons.
Feels good to get so much done. I've been in he decluttering organizing mode since right after Christmas. I can't seem to stop. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
