Why Did The Cake Fall?

I love this new church schedule. Duff was up and gone for early meetings. Christine slept in--love that teenage life. I cuddled with Darla and watched the Tab choir broadcast.
We celebrated Adrianne's bday today, so I put an angel food cake in the oven in the quiet kitchen. I took it out and was getting the chicken ready to put in, and I turned around and it totally fell 'out' of the pan! WHAT? How many years have I been making angel food cakes? The only thing I can think of is that it was still kind of rainy outside and I must not have baked it long enough to get all the extra moisture out. Luckily, I had another mix in the pantry and started another one. I made sure I baked it the maximum time and it turned out beautifully. Go figure. So I'm going to break up the fallen one and mix it with some pudding for FHE dessert tomorrow. I guess I can be grateful for a 'two-fer'!

I enjoyed our church meetings today. The messages were timely in Sacrament meeting. The law of the fast. It gave me a lot to think about. I can improve. Personal worthiness. We can all improve here too. RS was a nice lesson on using the savior's example of leadership in our own lives. We are all leaders: women, mothers, wives, any calling. I visited with good friends. It is always nice to connect with my sisters in the gospel.

Mike and Adrianne were here when Chris and I got home and we got dinner finished and enjoyed roast chicken. Adrianne's choice for her bday dinner. Duff and Christine left for the fireside and I got the kitchen cleaned up and then Mike, Adrianne, and I played Nertz until they got home. The cake and ice cream ended the birthday week on the right note.

I got to talk to all the kids today at some point. That made the day complete.
