WWood Fire Update

Everyone is still here. The weather has greatly cooperated with firefighters. At this time it is 20% contained. All slept very well, including Uncle Bob. He is happy and calm today. Very animated and talking a lot. Shelly and Sheri both commented that they haven't seen him talk this much in years. Auntie Tia even put make-up on today and looked more rested than I've seen her in months. Good things!

They have made a decision to stay here today and tonight regardless of whether they lift the evacuation order. They would rather give it another day to be sure than go back prematurely just to pack up and have to leave again. It would be very hard on Uncle Bob with that kind of change which in turn would be difficult for them.

I got these pictures from Kristin's blog to give an idea of the scope of this fire.

The east/south end of Wrightwood. The fire is coming over the ridge.

Burning up!

This gives you a perspective of what is being fought. Look at the flames in relationship to the fire truck and fireman!
Right now, Grandma, Auntie Tia, Shelly, and Sheri are out shopping for things for the funeral. They are framing some pictures, etc. for a beautiful display in the foyer when people arrive at the church. I am here with my dad helping to take care of Uncle Bob, doing my Monday things, and getting ready to pick up Christine. Shelly and Sheri have been snapping up lots of photos that I'll have to borrow!

Oh my gosh, the fire is MASSIVE. Bob's mom and dad served a mission in Wrightwood! Cindy-Lou, take care of YOURSELF - this is a big job for you . . . please give your dad and mom and hug and kiss for me . . . really, do that!

Thanks for your email.

I think staying another night is the best thing to do. Glad all things are going well. See you soon.
