Crazy Sunday

A 'shout out' to all the US veterans who have fought, and continue to fight for freedom the world over. In my life, I have been touched by the examples of my family members who believed in freedom and fought for it: My dad, Ward Davis, Uncle Joe Hurdsman, Uncle Bob Ward, Grampa-Great Richard Brown. THANK YOU.

Today started out early as usual for my Sunday. Sacrament Meeting went over by 1/2 an hour---a SS teacher and Primary President's nightmare! By the time the children got to Primary they were spent! They didn't want to sit anymore, sing anymore, listen anymore. They had HAD it! So the next 2 hours of church were difficult. If you have ever served in a primary calling, your middle name has to be 'flexible'.

Got home, made lunch, put dinner in the oven. Left again at 3:30 to go and do birthday deliveries with the presidency. We go once a month and bring a special birthday treat to each child and board member. It is so fun to see their faces as we give them their giant cupcake with a candle in it and sing to them. Everyone likes to be remembered on their birthday!

Finally home, changed clothes, and had a little time to relax. Finished dinner, and Mike and Adrianne got up and told me that they would do all the clean up! THANKS so much! Then we all pitched in and made an apple pie. We pretty much like a lot of apple desserts: apple cake, pie, crisp. Duff has been craving an apple crumb topped pie, so that is what we did. It was hot, and yummy, with vanilla bean ice cream melting over each piece! So good for a cold, gray autumn day with a fire in the fireplace.....
