"S" is for:

We left early this morning to drive to Phoenix.  Natalie's birthday is tomorrow and we haven't been able to celebrate with her for about 10 years because she has been in school and always in the middle of mid-terms, papers, and college life.  It is also Johnny's first Trunk or Treat/Halloween, and we want to be there.  It's obviously more for us than him--he is after all just 11 months.  But still.  It's a grandma/papa thing!

Later this afternoon, Duff texted Natalie at work:

D--What are the plans for dinner?
N--????
D--What are we doing for dinner tonight?
N--Dad, I think you are texting the wrong child.

He let 15 minutes go by.

D--What's up for dinner?
N--????
D--SURPRISE.  We came out to surprise you for your birthday!

She was so excited.  Then Lisa and I called her.  She couldn't believe it.  When she came in the door from work, we were telling John that his mommy was here, and she started crying and said, "and my mommy's here!"  Hugs.

We went to Valle Luna for dinner with everyone.  The food was good, but the room they put us in was weird.  Tile floor only and very loud so John did not do well.  We took turns holding and walking him.  That's just what you do with babies.  Bathtime and Halloween jammies from Grandma.  Pictures to follow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NATS!
Love You--
