Happy Birthday Shaun! I'm missing you today while I'm on the road. You were in such a hurry to get 'here'! You were my quickest and easiest labor and delivery! 90 minutes! You were so sweet. You were such a cuddler. You LOVED to be held and rocked, especially at night. Those darn ears sure gave you problems for your first two years. You would get the 'all clear' at 3pm and by 10am the next morning you'd have 2 raging infections all over again! After that you were one of my healthiest children--hardly EVER sick. You were so loved by your siblings. They would fight to hold you and rock you in the little rocking chair while I tried to get dinner ready. Natalie was a bit young, but Mike and Josh did a really good job of it!
I remember when you were about 6 weeks old: I had a deeply spiritual experience with you. I can see it in my mind vividly still today. The time of day, the colors, the light coming in the window. You were in your crib and I was looking at you. You looked up at me and our eyes connected--spirit to spirit. In a split second it was conveyed to me that I had promised to be your mother and you were purposely sent to our family. It was very strong. It was one of those experiences that when you have it you know it is not of this earth but from God.
I've often pondered over that. Why would it be that important for me to know that in that way?. As I reflect back on all you've had to endure these last 3 years it has been a testimony to me that God loves His children and He has sent us to be in families to get through this earth life.
I Love You!
