Tommy's Texas BBQ

A complete hole in the wall type restaurant. In old town Heber. In a quaint, little center of old homes, shops and buildings that have been collected and moved together with gravel/slag and old wooden planks for your walking pleasure. Peachy pink geraniums in old fashioned wooden flower boxes line the boardwalks with an occasional Black Eyed Susan dotting the way. At dusk the white lights outlining every building come on and you feel transported back into time. It is also home to the Snake Creek Grill found in Zagat's travel reference.

Wednesdays are all you can eat night at Tommy's. You are not disappointed! BBQ'd ribs, chicken (to die for, believe me!), pulled pork, brisket, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, cole slaw, cobb corn, and a spicy corn side, rolls, and fresh pies. Last night they had a lone country singer. He was good. We sang along to Streets of Laredo and quoted from the movie The Wedding Planner.

Mere and I went into Kimball Junction to the outlets and Walmart so she could pick up a few things for her crafting/sewing. The guys and Christine went to get a shake at the local Dairy Keen, which by the way has been voted best in the state several years and running. Mere and I stopped there on the way home too only to walk in with our shakes and see very disappointed looks on our hubby's faces, because they had lovingly thought of us and bought us some to have with them when we got back! How thoughtful was that?!

Darla has claimed her spot on the big ole bean bag in the great room but got the scare of her life when while laying there Christine decided to 'plop' down on it next to her (it is quite large) and she went flying up in the air!!!! OH! If we only had had a camera and the chance to capture that picture. We laughed and laughed for quite a while.
