Duff Gone To Help Evacuate Others

The Bishop stopped by to check on Dan and Dodie and while he was here got a call from Norm and Carol Gardner. They live on Hamilton Trail. They have to evacuate ASAP. So Duff and Dan went with him. I got into our EPrep stuff and sent masks and goggles with them. I was really glad I had gotten those years ago and stored them away. Who knew we would really ever have to use them!

The Gardners are in their 80's and just some of the most wonderful people you could ever know. I have often said that when I grow up I want to be like Carol Gardner! They have served 3 senior couple missions since being retired. Not because they like to be away from family or have a bit of the 'wanderlust', but because when the spirit tells you something in your heart you listen and follow it. Their last missions have been to Africa and Mexico. They learned a language in their 70's!

Cindy Steele-next door neighbor- just called and told me to go upstairs fast and look outside. It looks like bombs went off on the other side of the foothills, white, black, thick smoke in 4 new places. It is burning everything in it's path. Now I'm a little scared for Duff. They went right into that area to the Gardner's.

Christine has been able to spend a whole day in school without a care. I need to focus on just how much I will tell her and how I will tell her.

I will remember you in our prayers. I used to be in Bob and Roberta's ward and don't live to far away. I also teach a Madison High where Bob is the VP. I read her blog and am just sick for all of you. Come stay with us. We have plenty of room. Take care.
Sincerely, Robyn Eastin

Just checking in to see HOW YOU'RE DOING. If everyone here could DO SOMETHING we would all be there helping where ever. BUT, we are praying for you tonight and everyone in Southern California. Love you all - be safe and well. Love the way you're caring for each others needs.

Thank You, both. We are feeling your prayers, truly! We are hanging tight for now. I'll keep you updated.
