Rock A Bye Baby, On The Tree Top--OSU Style!

Okay--these pictures are kind of mixed up, but you'll get the idea! Kristen Peterson Rigby at her baby shower on October 20, 2007. This is a pretty cool diaper bag. The way the straps are on it you can carry it over your shoulder, or like a purse or wear it as a backpack. They sure didn't have these kinds of things when I was having my babies! I LOVE how they just keep improving and improving baby necessities!

After Christine's soccer game (which they lost. So sad--they were ahead most of the game and then suddenly fell apart. Final score: 5-1.), Adrianne met us at the field and we went over to Kristen Rigby's baby shower. Kristen is Meredith's older sister. Her husband is Brent, who is doing his dental residency in Ohio. He graduated from dental school at Ohio State.

Mom/grandma Patti and Kristen opening the gifts. We had just had a delicious lunch of fruit salad, green strawberry salad, and chicken salad croissants, which tasted so good after a morning outside at the game. It was at Penny Hawkins house, and Linda Skeen and Cheryl O'Bryant helped with the activities!

Cute Kristen with her 'baby belly'! She is having a little boy that they are going to name Logan Rigby. She is due December 10th, the day before her own birthday on the 11th.

Her dad got this OSU jersey with their last name on it for the baby. Just the thing that a grandpa would do! (I think grandma Patti probably gave him some help...)

Since they live just outside Columbus and are OSU alumni, she is doing his nursery all in red, black, and white, and 'buckeyes'. Patti made this crib quilt in the school colors. The flowers are Ohio Stars. She got red bumpers, an OSU buckeye mobile that plays the fight song--lullaby version, and cute letters and things for the walls.

The Peterson women! Patti, Megan, Kristen, and Meredith. We played 3 rousing shower games, and I did terrible at all three of them. But they were a lot of fun. It's been a while since I've had babies! Prices are sure different now then they were even 13 years ago when Christine was born. The younger moms did really well at that one!
(Journal entry:)
We dropped Adrianne off at her house, and then Christine and I had just enough time to come home and freshen up and head off to Jessica Hobbins wedding reception. It was very nice. They had it at her grandpa's yacht club in Newport Beach. It was a very pretty drive down to Balboa Island at sunset on a fall day!
Then back to 'home base' and to Albertson's for grapes, crackers, and cheese. We are going to feed the Primary kids a healthy snack inbetween practicing in the chapel and going to the Primary room. It really is nice to have that fenced in patio just off the Primary room.
All in all, a very busy but wonderful day.

Nice fall day here: 73*. SNOWing in Midway and Provo. But the Cougars are winning 28-7 in the 3rd quarter. Duff and the kids are having a blast!
